Stefano Bressani at OPEN20 Venice: between sculpture and contemporary reflection
1 September 2017 @ 8:00 - 1 October 2017 @ 17:00

Stefano Bressani OPEN20 Venice
Stefano Bressani OPEN20 Venice marks a biennium of intense creative activity and international recognition.
Between 2016 and 2017, the artist strengthened his presence in the contemporary art scene, presenting visionary works in venues such as Molino Stucky, the Arsenale, and the Hotel Excelsior during the Venice Film Festival.
Picasso Re-loaded: a dialogue with Cubism
With Picasso Re-loaded, Bressani reinterprets the Cubist legacy through his personal lens — not merely as homage, but as a critical dialogue with the visual language of the 20th century. His sculptures reconstruct and deconstruct the human figure, inviting reflection on art as an interpretation of reality.

Skultoflower and the Arte Laguna Prize
The Skultoflower series, awarded the OPEN19 – Arte Laguna Special Prize, explores the connection between art and nature. The work symbolizes rebirth — blooming as transformation.
Presented at Molino Stucky and the Arsenale, the piece conveys an ecological message through form and color.
Kaotika – Without Time: time and visual chaos
At OPEN20 Venice, Bressani presented Kaotika – Without Time, an installation exhibited at the Hotel Excelsior. Serial figures in motion embody the disconnection of the present. The black and white tones recall classic cinema, while the visual rhythm mirrors the disorientation of the contemporary individual. Displayed alongside artists such as Yoko Ono, the work reaffirms the relevance of Bressani’s research.
A scenography of contemporaneity
According to curator Serena Mormino, Kaotika is a “scenography of contemporaneity.” White becomes a symbol of identity loss and impersonal communication. The artwork denounces digital solitude and the erosion of meaning — yet also opens the door to individual renewal.
Art as possibility
Despite its apparent chromatic lightness, Bressani’s art is rich in critical depth. His language merges tradition and innovation, leading to a journey of awareness. Aesthetics become a tool to question the human condition in the age of speed and post-truth.
Toward new projects
With OPEN20 Venice, Stefano Bressani reaffirms the coherence of his artistic vision. His works raise questions about time and identity, opening spaces for shared reflection. Amid new exhibitions and international collaborations, the artist continues to engage the public through images, installations, and digital dialogue.
