Angels between Heaven and Earth: art and spirituality between Italy and Argentina
Angels between Heaven and Earth is the title of the exhibition hosted at the Serrone of the Royal Villa of Monza from December 7, 2017, to January 21, 2018. The event, rich in symbolic and intercultural meaning, placed at its center the figure of the angel — a universal archetype that crosses religions, cultures, and artistic traditions.
The project, conceived by Daniele Crippa, brought together over 500 Italian and international artists in a dialogue between contemporary art and spirituality.

Iglesia de los Angeles: the Argentinian project
In the heart of the El Milagro estate in Argentina stands the Iglesia de los Angeles, an architectural and spiritual project promoted by Daniele Crippa. The building is decorated with more than a thousand 20×20 cm ceramic tiles, crafted by local artisans from the works of renowned Italian artists such as Gillo Dorfles, Giosetta Fioroni, and Mimmo Paladino. The project is a tribute to the indigenous Christian community and to the deep connection between art, faith, and territory.
The Italian connection: the Monza exhibition
The Monza exhibition served as a symbolic bridge between Italy and Argentina. The artworks, inspired by the decoration of the Iglesia de los Angeles, formed a mosaic of contemporary angelic visions. The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Direzione Generale della Reggia di Monza and the patronage of both the Archdiocese and Argentine cultural institutions — reinforcing the dialogue between the two nations.
Stefano Bressani and the contemporary angel
Among the featured artists, Stefano Bressani presented a smiling, colorful angel crafted in his unmistakable style.
His work approaches spirituality through a sustainable vision, where the angel becomes a symbol of regeneration, ecology, and social commitment.
The use of fabric and recycled materials gives the figure a new lightness — tied to the responsibility of the present.
The figure of the angel in art history
From Giotto to Chagall, from Michelangelo to Haring, the angel has remained a constant presence in the artistic imagination. In
Art thus becomes a bridge for dialogue and reflection on the meaning of the sacred in the contemporary world.
Art and spirituality in dialogue
The publication Angeli & Artisti nella Iglesia de los Angeles (Bellavite Editore) accompanied the exhibition, offering further insight into the project. Overall, Angels between Heaven and Earth stands as a successful example of art as a bridge among peoples, spirituality, and creativity. In the age of globalization, the angel becomes a messenger of shared ethics and of humanity’s search for beauty, meaning, and connection.
