Moreschi
The collaboration between Stefano Bressani and Moreschi was born through the encounter with Italian Converter, a leading company in the production of materials and fabrics for footwear, active both nationally and internationally. The friendship between the artist and Kostantino Karazzisis,
owner of the historic Vigevano-based company, offered Bressani the chance to explore new techniques and mediums on which to transfer the three-dimensionality of his sculptural language while preserving its expressive power.
Through the technique of embossing, Bressani’s MALIUMBAS© design came to life on a series of technical fabrics, later developed into a collection of materials distinguished by different colors and finishes. From this experimentation, the MORESCHI BRESSANI, line was created, in collaboration with S.Fabiani of Maisonne Derriere.
Original designs for women’s shoes were transformed into unique pieces thanks to the mastery of Italian artisans, giving rise to a veritable artistic collection.
The project was unveiled with an exhibition-event in Vigevano, hosted in the Second Scuderia of the Castello Sforzesco, with Moreschi as an exceptional patron. The shoe created in collaboration with the company became both an exhibited artwork and a piece acquired into the permanent collection of the Museo della Calzatura in Vigevano,
precisely with the model used for the exhibition’s communication.
This initiative opened new creative pathways for the artist, who later signed other footwear pieces in his unmistakable style: from the iconic customized All Star to the recent and exclusive VELENO, self-produced and graphically designed as true wearable works of art.
