Stefano Bressani at the M.A.C.I.S.T. Museum in Biella: art and social commitment
The Museum of International Contemporary Art Without Trends (M.A.C.I.S.T.) in Biella represents a unique combination of contemporary art and social engagement. Founded by Maestro Omar Ronda and supported by a group of international collectors and artists, the museum aims to promote high-quality contemporary art without adhering to specific schools or movements. At the core of its mission is a strong ethical commitment: supporting the Edo and Elvo Tempia Foundation in the fight against cancer.
With over 150 Italian and international works from 22 countries, displayed in permanent and temporary collections, the M.A.C.I.S.T. museum offers an artistic experience that engages the public and raises awareness about important issues such as health, research, and prevention.
The work Pala Maliumbas: a symbol of style and sustainability
Among the invited artists stands Stefano Bressani, personally called by his friend and Maestro Omar Ronda. For the occasion, Bressani donated a work conceived to represent the core values of his artistic practice, internationally recognized for its innovative technique using vividly colored fabrics.
Titled Pala Maliumbas©, the work is distinguished by sinuous shapes and bright colors, elements that characterize the artist’s imagination and stylistic research. Measuring 260x30x8 cm, the Pala Maliumbas is placed horizontally within the museum and serves as a symbolic “artificial horizon,” inspired by an aeronautical concept. This metaphorical line marks the boundary between the real and the dreamlike, inviting visitors to position their own perception and encouraging reflection and imagination.
Art and social responsibility
Bressani’s work is not only an aesthetic manifesto but also a message of sustainability and recycling, central themes in his artistic research. Its presence at M.A.C.I.S.T. demonstrates the power of art to unite beauty and social responsibility. An added value to Bressani’s participation is the engagement letter signed by renowned art critic Philippe Daverio, who emphasized its artistic and symbolic significance. With this donation, Stefano Bressani consolidates his role not only as an innovator in contemporary art but also as a promoter of an ethical and cultural message that extends beyond galleries, reaching a wider audience and raising awareness of key societal issues.
