Art and engines: Bressani’s tribute to the Fiat 500
Following the success of his exhibition at the Automobile Museum in Turin, Stefano Bressani brought his art to Garlenda, to the Dante Giacosa Multimedia Museum of the Fiat 500. The museum is dedicated to the renowned Italian engineer who designed the historic Fiat 500, a symbol of Italian identity worldwide.
An exhibition during the Fiat 500 international meeting
The event took place within the 32nd edition of the Fiat 500 International Meeting, an annual gathering attracting enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate the small yet iconic Italian car. The museum itself serves as a reference point for fans of design and the history of the 500.
Sculture Vestite: fabric and poetry in dialogue with the bodywork
Bressani presented his unmistakable Sculture Vestite, fabric works that reinterpret automotive design poetically. The rounded forms of the Fiat 500 are recreated in fabric, generating a striking contrast between the softness of textiles and the rigidity of metal. At the same time, the artist highlights the shape and identity of the iconic vehicle without altering it.
Litoprint: accessible and original art
In addition to the sculptures, the exhibition included Litoprint: prints on paper with inserts of original fabric. Each print becomes a unique piece, accessible even to collectors with smaller budgets, while preserving the artistic value and tactile emotion of Bressani’s creations.
An initiative promoted by the Fiat 500 Club Italia
The invitation came from Domenico Romano, president of the Fiat 500 Club Italia, and vice president Alessandro Scarpa. The goal was to highlight contemporary art within a context connected to the history of Italian design. The combination of engines and art proved highly evocative and engaging.
Bressani: “each print tells the essence of my works”
Regarding the Litoprint, Bressani explains: “Without my sculptures, the prints would not exist, just as without eyes, my sculptures would not exist. In each print, I include a fragment of the fabrics I use in my works, making every piece unique and precious.”
Art, design, and Italian passion
This exhibition reaffirms the deep connection between art and the automobile, between creativity and tradition. With the Garlenda show, Stefano Bressani invites the audience to see the Fiat 500 with new eyes, transforming an industrial icon into visual poetry and a material of art.
