Sport and art in motion: Stefano Bressani’s signature makes CorriPavia unique from 2018 to 2025

Pavia – Sunday, October 12, 2025
The countdown has already begun for one of Northern Italy’s most beloved running events: CorriPavia, now reaching its 21st edition. While the race has always been the beating heart of the event, in recent years another rhythm has joined its pace — the artistic soul of Maestro Stefano Bressani, the Pavia-born artist behind the now-celebrated Skultomedal, the “artwork-medal” that has symbolically accompanied every participant since 2018.
2018: the aesthetic revolution of the medal
The turning point came in 2018, during the 16th edition of CorriPavia. For the first time, the medal was not just a commemorative object but a true wearable sculpture. It was signed by Stefano Bressani, an internationally renowned Pavia-born artist known for his “Sculture Vestite”, three-dimensional works made from reclaimed fabrics.
The Skultomedal redefined the imagery of running competitions, blending art and sport into an innovative visual language. Through dynamic, colorful forms, Bressani translated the spirit of Pavia — the Visconti Castle, the Ticino River, the medieval towers — into a contemporary and distinctive symbol, transforming the medal into an emblem of the event’s identity.

2019: when art meets the running shirt
The following year, the Skultomedal doubled its presence. Alongside the medal came the official race t-shirt, once again designed by Bressani, bringing the artwork directly onto the runners’ chests. Thanks to a partnership with technical sponsor Karhu, the shirt became a moving canvas — an extension of art in motion. It was the year of the “Author’s CorriPavia,” as described by Franco Corona, president of Atletica 100 Torri, who emphasized the strategic value of this fusion between sport, art, and territorial promotion.
2020–2022: pause and revival
The pandemic halted the event in 2020 and 2021, and it did not take place in 2022 either. However, Bressani’s presence — and that of his creation — remained alive in the collective imagination. An “on-track” edition of the race was organized, maintaining the connection between art, sport, and community.
2023: rebirth with the 20th edition
On September 24, 2023, CorriPavia returned with a Special Edition. The medals became entirely eco-sustainable, crafted from recycled wood and printed with zero emissions. The design remained faithful to Bressani’s original concept, reaffirming a now-recognizable identity. The official t-shirt also featured the Skultomedal at its center, once again in collaboration with Karhu.
2024: two colors, one signature
In the 2024 edition, the Skultomedal appeared in two versions: burgundy for the Mini CorriPavia and midnight blue for the 10K, both octagonal and made from FSC and PEFC®-certified wood. Once again, Bressani’s signature defined the runner’s experience: each medal was not merely a souvenir but a collectible artwork — a statement of beauty and environmental respect.
2025: art keeps running
On October 12, 2025, CorriPavia will celebrate the fifth consecutive year of collaboration with Stefano Bressani. The message is clear:
running is not just about athletic performance, but also about culture, aesthetics, and civic engagement.
The urban route, winding among Pavia’s historic landmarks, becomes an open-air gallery where art finds new vitality through the vision of an artist capable of turning a simple object into a visual and symbolic story.
