SKULTOCITY © is a cultural project conceived by artist Stefano Bressani, designed as a flexible and sustainable artist residency, adaptable to any type of territory—from small villages to large cities. The artist stays for a short period (three days in villages, up to a week in cities) and interacts with the architecture and local community to create an “artistic map”: a visual and sculptural reinterpretation of the place in his unique style.
During the residency, Bressani explores symbolic locations—restaurants, museums, palaces, and more—to gather stories and impressions, which he then integrates into his work. At the end, he produces a sculptural piece that emains a part of the host territory’s cultural heritage.

SKULTOCITY © serves as an innovative tool for territorial promotion, capable of uniting art, culture, and gastronomy, and creating a network of interconnected places—true hubs of contemporary culture. The project began in Matera (European Capital of Culture 2019) and has since expanded to many other locations across Italy and Europe. Each work becomes a distinctive symbol of its location and can also be used for graphic and promotional purposes, strengthening the sense of belonging and leaving a tangible memory of the experience.
