CUSTOM – The Portrait as a Unique and Personal Work

The CUSTOM project originates from Stefano Bressani’s ability to transform faces and iconic subjects—such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, or Elvis Presley—into contemporary textile works, inspired by pop language yet deeply personal and conceptual.

Through an unconventional technique, the artist brings to life three-dimensional portraits where the gaze—the absolute protagonist—expresses character and identity. Each work challenges the boundaries between painting, photography, and sculpture, using fabric, light, and perspective to create living images that shift with the viewer’s gaze.

From the face of a newborn to that of a 70-year-old adult, every portrait is a tailor-made journey that freezes time and tells a story. It is not just about likeness: each creation is an emotional narrative, conceived and realized from the relationship between artist and commissioner.

CUSTOM is an open collection, composed of made-to-order works that portray people, objects, or concepts, always aiming to transform material into emotion, giving visible form to the bonds, memories, and lives that inspire them.
