Stefano Bressani at Expo Dubai: art that unites the world

8 March 2022 @ 8:00 - 17:00

Expo di Dubai

Beauty that brings people together: art as a universal gift

On March 8, 2022, the Italy Pavilion at Expo Dubai lights up with an authentic, intense, almost ancestral emotion. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the art of Stefano Bressani—internationally recognized as an Illuminated Man and an innovator—crosses the threshold of the Universal Exposition with one of his most iconic works.

Artist’s Head: beauty unites people

A title that is already a manifesto. A work that transcends artistic form: a gift of beauty and meaning, a symbolic act that speaks to all humanity.

In the heart of the pavilion dedicated to the excellence of Italian craftsmanship, Bressani’s Scultura Vestita stands as a shared vision: an Italy that creates with both mind and hand, that shapes identity through style, that communicates through the universal language of art.

Expo Dubai

An institutional moment of global significance

The official ceremony—held at 1 p.m. in Italy, 4 p.m. in Dubai—opens with greetings from Commissioner Paolo Glisenti and Senator Tatjana Rojc, connecting live from Italy.

The event features extraordinary women:

  • Isa Maggi, President of the Stati Generali delle Donne;
  • Graziella Di Berardino, representative for the Middle East;
  • Laura Gori, entrepreneur and founder of Way2Global, present in person in Dubai.

It is Gori who presents the Dubai Charter, a symbolic document offered to Glisenti and ideally addressed to all Expo pavilions—a call to embrace beauty as a bridge across diversity, unity, and international cooperation.

The artwork as a spiritual gesture

In this context of profound human and cultural significance, Artist’s Head is officially donated to the UAE Minister of Tolerance, Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

A powerful gesture, rich with meaning: not merely a formal handover, but a spiritual offering.

It is art that connects minds, brings people closer, and builds invisible yet unbreakable bridges.

Bressani’s message: a new global humanism

Speaking from Italy, Stefano Bressani is introduced by key institutional figures: Laura Gori, Gemma Andreini, Graziella Di Berardino, and Benedetta Pasero, Ambassador of the Città delle Donne.

A second tribute is dedicated to Commissioner Glisenti: a work inspired by Michelangelo’s David, reinterpreted through the distinctive language of the Maestro dei Volumi. Classical beauty is reborn in a contemporary creation, where ingenuity flows through the “craftsmanship of the hands” and the strength of the feminine spirit.

A bridge to the future

The event concludes with greetings from Isa Maggi and a horizon that already looks ahead: a rendezvous at Expo Osaka 2025, under the banner of continuity, growth, and cross-cultural dialogue.

Anyone in Italy could attend this unique moment of art, culture, and international diplomacy online.

Through Stefano Bressani’s vision and the symbolic power of his Artist’s Head, beauty truly unites people—

now and for the future.
