Exhibition FRIENDS at Spazio Thetis – Arsenale di Venezia

In the heart of Venice’s historic Arsenale, Spazio Thetis inaugurated a new artistic season with FRIENDS, a group exhibition dedicated to encounter, sharing, and creative dialogue. The show brought together Spazio Thetis’s long-standing collaborators — artists, curators, and gallerists who have contributed to the growth of this international cultural hub.

A garden of ideas in the northern Arsenale

The works were displayed in the evocative gardens of the northern Arsenale, near the Biennale Gardens. The participating artists created a free and multifaceted narrative, in conversation with the permanent collection of Spazio Thetis, which includes Il Terzo Paradiso by Michelangelo Pistoletto, Le Sentinelle by Beverly Pepper, and L’uomo che misura le nuvole by Jan Fabre.

Art, science, and the future at Spazio Thetis

Spazio Thetis was born within a center for environmental innovation, where art and science intersect in a dialogue between disciplines. The FRIENDS exhibition embodies this dynamic and sustainable vision of art, offering a renewed perspective on creativity, enterprise, and culture.

Among the protagonists was Stefano Bressani, the “Tailor of Art,” with his Skultoflower Maliumbas© Ball. Created in corten steel and recycled fabrics, the work reflects the tension between nature and artifice, perfectly embodying the spirit of the place.

The FRIENDS exhibition at Spazio Thetis was open from April 17 to the end of November 2019 — a unique opportunity to rediscover Venice through contemporary art and the power of creative friendship.
