Rebirth After Illness: Art, Fashion, and Beauty to Celebrate the Strength of Women

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the project “Portraits of Women” brings together CNAO, Policlinico San Matteo, and ICS Maugeri in a special event dedicated to oncology patients. At the heart of the initiative is an emotional fashion show, where fifteen women who have faced cancer become living sculptures, wearing garments crafted from hospital sheets by designer Nada Nuovo.
On these garments, the works from Stefano Bressani’s #picassoreloaded collection come to life, projected onto the runway to envelop the bodies in light and color, narrating through art the power of rebirth. Bressani’s aim is to transform a symbol of pain, such as hospital sheets, into a message of beauty and hope.
Through the projection of his works, the artist emphasizes the resilience and transformation of the patients, turning them into protagonists of a living artwork. His intention is to give visual form to a profound message: to transform scars into beauty and restore identity and dignity to those who have experienced cancer.
It is a day of emotion, art, and sharing, celebrating femininity that endures and blooms again, even after illness.
