Bressani reinterprets the Battle of Pavia: pop art and memory for the 500th anniversary

Stefano Bressani is at the heart of a new artistic project that combines historical memory, pop language, and contemporary vision. On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the famous battle, the Pavia-born artist created a work that bridges past and future.

Bressani does not simply create art: he assembles, sews, and brings it to life. His fabric sculptures — made from recycled materials — tell profound stories, balancing ethics and beauty. With “500 years of the Battle of Pavia,” the artist reinterprets the Capodimonte tapestries in a pop and three-dimensional key, shining a spotlight on a historical event that shaped Europe.

Collaboration with Fedegari Spa

The project stems from a synergy with Fedegari Spa, a Pavia-based leader in the pharmaceutical sector. A deep connection that merges technique and creativity, supported by a shared vision: innovating while respecting memory and territory. The relationship traces back to Maestro Carlo Mo and is now renewed through the vision of Giuseppe and Paolo Fedegari.

Public and interactive art in Pavia

The main work will be displayed in a strategic urban space, accompanied by banners with interactive QR codes providing historical, artistic, and multimedia content. Each character will be graphically reinterpreted and accompanied by historical insights curated by Professor Marco Pellegrini Casali.

A new narrative for the city

The project also involves citizens through a dedicated website, where history, art, and technology intersect. The production phases were documented by photographer Gio Martorana, who captured the intensity of the creative gesture in the artist’s studio.
