The work was the centerpiece of a citywide event held from March 29 to Easter Sunday, a date coinciding with the anniversary of the Saint\u2019s death (April 4, 397). The project involved symbolic locations such as Piazza Duomo<\/strong>, Castello Sforzesco<\/strong>, and the Pinacoteca di Brera,<\/strong> creating an itinerary designed to awaken Milan\u2019s artistic sensitivity.<\/p>\nThe sound of the bell and the symbolic gesture<\/h3>\n
At the heart of the work is the bell<\/strong>: not just a physical object, but a sound and a symbol. It calls for reflection on justice, represented by the book that Saint Ambrose<\/strong> holds on the scales\u2014an emblem of balance between good and evil, authority and compassion.<\/p>\nThe nail and the cross: recurring symbols<\/h3>\n
The nail<\/strong>, a distinctive mark in Bressani\u2019s works, becomes here the pivot holding together the world\u2019s contradictions. The Christian cross<\/strong>, meanwhile, transforms into a message of hope, projected ideally toward infinity.<\/p>\nA message for Milan and the world<\/h2>\n
