Hosted in the evocative space of the former Church of Santa Marta\, the exhibition offered an immersive journey into the history of the British band\, with photographs\, videos\, memorabilia\, and artistic installations.  \nBressani’s works in dialogue with the Pink Floyd\nAmong the protagonists of Night of Wonders Venice was Italian artist Stefano Bressani\, known for creating Sculture Vestite. On this occasion\, Bressani presented two works inspired by iconic Pink Floyd albums: The Division Bell and The Wall.  \n“Steel Faces”: light and fabric reinterpret The Division Bell\nThe installation Steel Faces\, inspired by the album The Division Bell\, reimagines the famous metallic heads designed by Storm Thorgerson using textile techniques. The sculptures\, measuring 240×180 cm\, interact with the natural light of the church\, creating chiaroscuro effects that enhance the soft colors and three-dimensional forms of the work.  \n\n \n\n“What shall we do now?”: a reflective tribute to The Wall\nThe second work\, What shall we do now?\, draws inspiration from The Wall\, the concept album exploring themes of isolation and inner conflict. Bressani pays homage to Gerald Scarfe’s original drawings\, reinterpreting them with his sculptural technique to invite personal and contemporary reflection.  \nAn exhibition of art\, music\, and memory\nCurated by the association Floydseum\, Night of Wonders Venice was much more than an exhibition: it was a multisensory journey that recreated the atmosphere of the Venetian concert on July 15\, 1989. With 38 works on display\, the exhibition combined the unmistakable style of his Sculture Vestite with the aim of linking contemporary art and local heritage. \n\nThe venue: the Broletto of Pavia\nA historic building in the heart of Lombardy\nThe Broletto of Pavia\, home to the exhibition\, is full of history and atmosphere. Built in the 12th century\, with Romanesque\, Gothic\, and Renaissance elements\, it is the oldest broletto in Lombardy. \nToday\, it hosts temporary exhibitions promoted by the Municipality of Pavia\, with a focus on contemporary art and dialogue between emerging and established artists. \nThinking Pop: a manifesto exhibition\nIn this context\, Thinking Pop revealed itself as a manifesto exhibition. The project\, conceived to be itinerant\, started in Pavia with the intention of creating a bridge between Bressani’s artistic vision and the cultural fabric of host cities. \nThe works on display span the first phase of his career\, from pop-world icons – cinematic tributes\, famous faces\, and archetypal figures – to a homage to the Duomo of Pavia\, Italy’s third-largest dome\, interpreted through deconstructed architectural forms and three-dimensional fabrics. \nOfficial inauguration and authoritative voices\nAt the opening press conference\, alongside the artist\, were Mayor Alessandro Cattaneo\, Cultural Assessor Gian Marco Centinaio\, and art critic Mauro Di Vito from the University of Pisa\, who offered a historical-artistic reading of Bressani’s work. \nThe language of the Sculture Vestite\nMatter\, symbol\, and identity\nThe conceptual core of the exhibition revolves around transforming matter into symbol: clothing fabrics\, recovered and assembled\, become expressive tools of a personal vision where art\, memory\, and consumption intertwine. \nThe works convey energy\, volume\, and identity\, interacting with the viewer through shared cultural references and a highly recognizable aesthetic. \nMaliumbas© and the ecological message\nAt the end of the exhibition path\, an ambient sound installation accompanies Maliumbas©\, a work dedicated to nature and sustainability. \nHere\, Bressani’s language extends to themes of ecology and recycling\, making his art not only an aesthetic object but also a tool for reflection. \nPublic success and cultural value\nThinking Pop was a success in terms of audience and emotional engagement. Housed in a 17th-century former warehouse overlooking one of the city’s historic canals\, the museum welcomes visitors with a neon sign and a stone plaque reading: “God is mijn Burgh” – God is my castle. An ironic and provocative message\, perfectly in tune with the free spirit of the Dutch capital.   \nAn ironic and stimulating context\nThe museum spans three floors dedicated to international erotic art. Among photographs\, illustrations\, videos\, curious objects\, and works by famous artists such as Picasso and John Lennon\, it offers a visual narrative of sexuality\, provocation\, and the aesthetics of desire. In one room\, an erotic version of Snow White is projected on a loop. In another\, a vending machine offers collectible artistic condoms.    \n\nPleasure Key Bressani enters the permanent collection\nIn this rich environment of expressive freedom\, in 2012 Stefano Bressani\, known as the “Tailor of Art\,” was invited to present a sculpture in the new section dedicated to contemporary erotic art. The work\, titled Pleasure Key\, is a stylized phallus\, 50 cm high\, covered in gold\, with a base shaped like an antique key. A powerful symbol representing access to pleasure and the key to libido.   \nPleasure Key Bressani immediately stood out for its originality. The piece was selected for the museum’s permanent collection\, placed alongside Picasso’s erotic drawings. For the Pavia-born artist\, it was an important recognition\, linking his artistic research to the international scene and an unconventional context.   \nA work that continues to surprise\nEven today\, visitors send Bressani photographs taken next to the sculpture. Pleasure Key Bressani has become one of the museum’s most photographed and discussed works. Its strength lies in its ability to combine irony\, provocation\, elegance\, and reflection through the skillful use of fabric\, form\, and symbolism.   \nThis exhibition marked a decisive moment in the artist’s career. The exhibition created an intense dialogue between two different artistic languages\, united by the theme of portraiture and the gaze as a form of narrative and exploration of identity. \nOfficial site Museo Piaggio \n\nMuseo Piaggio: history and cultural significance\nItaly’s largest motorcycle museum\nWith its 5\,000 square meters and over 250 historic vehicles\, the Museo Piaggio is the largest motorcycle museum in Italy and one of the main ones in Europe. \nIn addition to the permanent collection dedicated to Vespa\, Ape\, and the brands Aprilia\, Gilera\, and Moto Guzzi\, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions that open a dialogue between technology\, art\, and culture. \nExhibition spaces and temporary initiatives\nSguardi d’artista* was held in the temporary exhibition space of 340 m². \nInstitutional and cultural value of the exhibition\nThe exhibition held significant institutional and cultural value. Born as a tribute to the memory of President Fanfani\, it saw the participation of the Province of Pisa (Councillor Landucci)\, the Rinaldo Piaggio Foundation (Vice-President Manrico Ferrucci)\, the Municipality of Pontedera (Councillor Liviana Canovai)\, the museum director Sabrina Caredda\, and curator Francesco Mutti. \nStefano Bressani’s works: textile sculptures and the narration of identity\nTechnique and artistic meaning\nBressani exhibited works made from fabrics sourced from everyday clothing\, transformed into three-dimensional sculptures capable of conveying depth\, ambiguity\, and expressiveness. \nHis works reveal a metamorphic-creative tension aimed at unmasking the subject represented and restoring it to an almost sacred dimension. \nThe artist himself describes this process as a counterpoint to the glossy world of the star system\, where celebrity is stripped of its universality to regain authenticity. \nMeeting with Giuseppe Cau and homage to Vespa\nDuring the exhibition\, Stefano Bressani met Giuseppe Cau\, the historic rider who made Vespa famous. From this meeting\, a work was born paying homage to Vespa No. 94 94\, covered with the artist’s fabrics. \nThe piece was later published in one of the Piaggio Foundation’s notebooks (2011–2012) dedicated to Corradino D’Ascanio\, the Vespa inventor. \n“Coffee with the artist” and workshops in local schools\nThe initiative concluded with “Coffee with the Artist\,” a public event during which works created by local school students in workshops led by Bressani were presented. \nOne of these works\, co-signed by the artist and a young participant\, became part of the Museo Piaggio’s permanent collection. \nArt\, memory\, and territory in dialogue\nSguardi d’artista proved to be an authentic opportunity for exchange between art\, memory\, and territory\, consolidating the Museo Piaggio’s role as a dynamic and inclusive cultural center.
